Established in Corner Brook for over 35 years ago as the Bay of Islands SPCA, our goal here at the newly branded NL West SPCA has remained the same over time: to raise awareness about the abuse + abandonment of animals, to teach and foster good pet parenting practices, encourage community cooperation, recognize and commend the efforts of our wonderful volunteers, and to promote spay and neuter programs around the province.
However – we’re still occupying the same space we originally established ourselves in, and our needs in this respect have very much changed. With a constant influx of animals and such limited space, we’re hoping to move to a new residence as soon as possible. With our plans coming together for a new shelter we’ll have a much larger space to house the animals, and the space will also provide us with the opportunity to offer education programs for youth/school groups, senior citizen programs, a dog park, and the room to offer agility training as well. We are currently working with the City of Corner Brook and CNA on making our dreams come true.
If you have any more questions for us, feel free to call us at 709-785-2747, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or pop down to our shelter on 10 Connors Road. We always welcome visitors and the animals love the extra attention!
Thanks so much for checking us out!
